This design and build project was a challenge from the very start. It involved a full client fit-out, incorporated into the construction programme, with the client tied to production start dates with all the country’s major banking concerns.
The client is a major printing contractor for all the high street banks and credit card companies, hence Electrical Infrastructure requirements that had to be designed and installed were extensive.
The mains electrical supply was brought into the building at 11kV, where a twin package substation was installed, which in turn fed an extensive mains infrastructure throughout the building. The main printing areas comprised an air sampling fire alarm system, full cat 5e installation, and a bus-bar distribution system, all installed on a secondary steel grid system installed immediately above the machinery. The associated offices, were also fully fitted out, with L1 fire alarm system, underfloor bus-bar system, part L2A lighting installation and flood wired cat5e structured wiring system.
