Exchange Flags is a flagship development in the centre of Liverpool. It consisted of the complete Mechanical & Electrical refurbishment of a 12 storey office block, which comprises the Exchange Flags complex. This is a design and build project carried out in partnership with Pochin Contractors Ltd for UK Land and Property.
The development comprised the supply and installation of a 3MVA package substation, full rising busbar mains distribution system, L1 fire alarm system Part L2 compliant lighting scheme and small power. Mechanically we have installed a Colt Colaris system throughout the building together with all hot and cold water services and ventilation. Part of the package is a full Cat B fit-out to four floors, including UPS installation and a flood wired structured wiring network installation.
The project, completed in 11 months, with the fit-out areas being completed in 9 months, and has a contract value of £6.7million. There was to be a great amount of programming and co-ordination of all parties, one of the advantages of working in partnerships to achieve a successful conclusion for all parties by completing the project on budget and on time.
